Emersya launches a game-changing Augmented Reality medium for e-commerce

This is the first universal medium for experiencing products in fully interactive Augmented Reality that can run directly in any web page. Available on the majority of devices and browsers, the feature empowers online shoppers to move and position products in the physical space, animate them to explore their features and even switch among the available colorways and product options.

The experience integrates an innovative concept developed by Emersya: Interactive AR photos. Customers can take a photo of their surroundings or of themselves, in order to better gage a product’s size and color options.

Emersya’s game-changing concept breaks away from existing AR experiences by offering more interaction with the product thanks to the animation and customization capabilities. Unlike usual AR experiences which require an app to run and are device and browser specific (Apple’s AR Quicklook and Google’s AR Core included), Emersya’s AR technology can run directly in any webpage and most devices. This solves the problem faced by many brands and retailers of losing online customers from their website and thus streamlines the buyer’s journey.

This innovative product experience has been developed as a complementary feature of Emersya’s award-winning interactive 3D technology, with the aim to provide the ultimate all-in-one online shopping experience. Industry leader and long term partner Samsonite is the first of Emersya’s clients to launch the new web AR experience on their ecommerce site. The introduction of this feature will provide online shoppers with the freedom to explore Samsonite’s suitcases in Interactive 3D, choose the size, explore every angle, open the suitcase and the inside pockets, extend the handle, switch between the available color-ways and customize the case, all through the AR feature and without leaving the product page.
